Painting Bones from the Curiosity Shelf: Restful Nature Watercolor & Quiet Heirloom Story Time

Sketchbook Goal: Small things, all here. Treasured. Today? It's heirloom story time, thanks to my curiosity/nature shelf, on page four of my new watercolor sketchbook. I've painted a tortoise bone and jalapeño pepper leaves--partially because I love them, and partially because it was a great way to finally get myself to dust that shelf! I also get to show you all the treasures on the bottom shelf--cuttlefish bone, acorns, feathers, a jar of pinecones and rocks. The list goes on. They are treasures for me, and maybe just maybe you're also a little-joys nature collector too. My questions for you: What do you collect? What strange heirlooms have you ended up with? My work is process-based. In this sketchbook, the process supports the end result. Simple, peaceful, relaxing, creative, colorful. When I enjoy my work, the end results shows it. I hope you enjoy watching the process, too. Soft lofi and a few ASMR sounds of watercolor paintbrushes, paper, and the chiming of jars coming off the shelf. Now that I think of it, this video is kind of perfect for halloween. Anyone else there enjoy a bit of macabre?
