MERC School Dropout Prevention Seminar

In this MERC seminar, Meleah Ellison (ICRE/MERC/VCU), Thea Racelis (VCU), Audra Lancaster (VCU/CCPS) and David Naff (MERC/ICRE/VCU) shared findings from a research and policy brief (linked below) about trends, challenges, and evidence-based strategies for school dropout prevention with a specific focus on Virginia. Additionally, Audra shared about school dropout prevention efforts in Chesterfield County Public Schools in her role as Coordinator of School Counseling. Participants also engaged in breakout discussions and resource sharing about supporting student groups that are particularly susceptible to school dropout.
