In this video male model, Brett Maverick, takes on the Navy Seals Fitness Test. Stay tuned to find out what happens! The Sea, Air, and Land teams belonging to the U.S. Navy pose perhaps the toughest physical challenge in the military. These elite squads carry out missions throughout the world, and must be prepared to deal with any kind of terrain and climate. Volunteers come from within Navy ranks, and must pass a basic fitness test before joining up. PTS and Swim Test Before you can even train for duty in the SEALs, the Navy will screen you with a Physical Screening Test, which consists of five sections. For a swim test, you must be able to go 500 yards within a maximum time of 12 minutes and 30 seconds. The optimum time is 9 minutes. Candidates can use the sidestroke or breaststroke. Calisthenics The PST requires a minimum 50 push-ups in 2 minutes, but you'll be rated with a competitive score and should be prepared to do 90 to 100. The instructors require proper form to count a push-up. For curl-ups (sit-ups), speed counts again. You need to complete 50 in a maximum of 2 minutes, but aim for the optimum 85 – this puts the time for each complete curl-up between 1 and 2 seconds. The PST also requires a minimum 10 consecutive pull-ups. If you touch the ground or let go of the bar, the set starts over again. Running On a timed run, you must do 1.5 miles in a maximum 10.5 minutes. A standard track stretches a quarter-mile; a single circuit should take about 90 seconds. The PST is scored on a downward scale; the lower the number, the better your result. The optimum score is 827. Higher scores might get you into the Navy's Special Warfare Training, but doesn't meet the requirements of BUD/S, the basic-training program that prepares recruits for the SEALs. Preparation To keep in the best shape possible and prepare for BUD/S training, keep to a work out schedule, including swimming and running, calisthenics, and team sports. Weightlifting and circuit training is not required, and is not a part of SEAL training, but it can break the monotony of daily routines and improve the upper body strength needed for the fitness test. Several private companies, including SEAL Training Adventures, offer a round of SEAL instruction and boot camps for civilians, meant to simulate the rigorous physical challenge of the real thing. *TURN POST NOTIFICATIONS ON* ⏰TIMESTAMPS⏰ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #NavySeals #FitnessTest -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connect With Me Further: Website: https://www.brettmvrk.com/malema Instagram: @BRETTMVRK Or if you want to see my personal stuff: Instagram: @BRETTMVRK My name is Brett Maverick Lange and I make video’s about reactions, challenges, fitness, nutrition, fashion, lifestyle and anything fun through a combination of informative videos and vlogs.
