Sailing the remote Lau (Ep.24) | Vanua Balavu & Fulaga

Our trip in Fiji's remote Lau group continues. After an epic time in Duff reef we sail the short hop south to Vanua Balavu to meet up with more of our friends before we all sail to the southern Lau. We re-visit one of our favourite places Fulaga where we hang out for a bit. The kids keep busy hunting mud crabs and spending their days in the water while the sailing Mum's keep busy paddleboarding the lagoon each day and we bring our sevusevu and 5 boxes of the newly published Fulaga book to the village and hike up to see remnants (skulls) of the last big battle between Tongans and Fijian's. For us there is no final destination - it's a lifestyle choice! Our days are usual spent kitesurfing, surfing, spearfishing or exploring! We are now 'Living the Dream' aboard our second boat, an 80ft former Whitbread race yacht which we've rescued, rebuilt and converted for 3.5 years into a comfortable and fast cruising yacht. It was a mammoth project with no outside help or funding but the end result was worth the effort and she's been our floating home since we launched her in late 2018 taking us to incredible spots around the South Pacific. As a qualified and experienced boatbuilder and seasoned sailors we share our boat projects with you along with our adventures. Support us: The biggest support you can give us is to like this video, subscribe and leave us a nice comment ;-) You can also show your appreciation and 'buy as a coffee' or if you want to make an even bigger difference and help us upgrade our equipment and gear for filming, editing and sailing aboard Camara, head to our Ko-Fi link - THANK YOU!
