When it turns to crap || Goat hunting in Australia

Out Goat hunting in Australia. Things don't always go according to plan. Got the call from one of my biobank properties that a large mob of feral goats had turned up, could I head out and take care of them? With the wind swirling and blowing hard from every bloody direction, the plan was to make a bee line down the hill to get in nice and close. Brought the .223 with me as it ready and I was in a hurry, also had my dog Maisy to give me a hand locating. Slowly making my way down the slope, sticking to the shadows. I wanted to get to a small clump of trees for some added cover and a slightly elevated shooting position. Just as I was nearly there it all turned to shit. I felt the wind swing around behind me and carry my scent straight to the large feeding mob of feral goats. They quickly grouped together and headed for cover. I quickly raced to get setup, well placed shots at goats on the move is always challenging. After emptying the 6 round magazine I made my way back up to get Maisy from the ute and locate the downed animals. Considering Maisy has only been out with me a couple of times before, she did great. 4 goats in total was a bit of a disappointing result, but that's just how it goes sometimes.
