So now Samus is back in the room where the statues of Kraid, Phantoon, Draygon, & Ridley lie. Since Samus beat all of them at this point, each of the statues lose their eye jewel, release their souls, and turn from gold to gray. When they're all gray, they sink into ground while also opening up a pit that Samus can drop into. From there, she'll see an elevator that leads to the last area of Planet Zebes and of this game: Tourian. It's a pretty mechanical location at first, and it's full of actual Metroids, bigger than the ones in Maridia. The unique way of killing them is to first freeze them, then destroy their frozen bodies with missiles. Eventually, Samus goes into some rooms that appear to be dried up and sucked of life. Some of the enemies are even victims of this. Note that you can't ever go back once you start going through this. You'll see one enemy trying to run, but barely, then a huge Metroid appears and sucks the rest of its life out. It's like this big thing is some sort of Super Metroid or something... You can't fight it, and there's no way to run away from it. It will quickly grab Samus and drain out 99.9% of all of her energy. You can even see that she's been weaken from this. The Super Metroid then starts shrieking. Based on its shrieks, it turns out to be the grown-up baby Metroid that Samus was looking for in this whole time, the very same one that she found and nurtured at the end of Metroid II. It then leaves off to somewhere else. Luckily, you'll quickly find both a Energy Recharger and a Missile Reloader. -------------- Later on, Samus will have a rematch against her other arch-nemesis: Mother Brain. At first, fighting MB isn't that much different from fighting her in the original game. Just keep shooting her with all the Missiles and Super Missiles you have. At first, she'll go down as usual, but then...! She reemerges with a brand new dinosaur-like body, and more powerful attacks. She seems invincible as you try to hit her with everything you got. By the time you run out of ammo, that's when Mother Brain uses her ultimate attack: A rainbow blast that quickly drains Samus of all of her energy. From there she is once again exhausted and can hardly move. Mother Brain can then attack Samus while she's already down, making sure that almost all of her health is gone. Mother Brain then prepares a second rainbow blast to overkill Samus, but then she's stopped by the Super Metroid that drained Samus before. The Super Metroid instead drained away Mother Brain's energy until she became immobilized. The Metroid then gives Samus the energy is drained from MB, but while this happens, Mother Brain starts to move again. Mother Brain blasts the Super Metroid, and it's unable to absorb MB's blasts at all not even after it stopped healing Samus. Its colors change to a sickly purple and yellow, and tries to attack Mother Brain one more time, but one more blast from MB was able to kill it once and for all. This angered Samus, who cared for the Metroid like a mother. Having been fully-recharged, she is now able to damage MB with her newest and most powerful beam yet: The Hyper Beam. While this beam can actually hurt Mother Brain, it doesn't mean you're invincible. Just exact your revenge on Mother Brain and keep shooting at her head with it. She eventually turns red, and then her body explodes, leaving her ugly head on its own again. The head then loses life and turns to dust. Mother Brain is now dead yet again, but somehow, this sets off a time bomb that plans to blow up the entirety of Planet Zebes in 3 minutes. So now it's time to escape! You can still use the Hyper Beam during the escape, so blast through everything that gets in your way. You can either escape straight back to Samus' spaceship, or you can take a bit more time off to go in a room to find the Etecoons & Dachora that you may have seen before. You can blast open a wall on the right to help them escape back to Samus' ship on their own. Anyway, once you reach the top of the spaceship and press "Down", you're safe as Samus gets in her spaceship and flies out of Zebes. She barely escapes the incredible explosion of the planet. Wherever she's going next, no one knows... -------------- So now I've beaten the game, and suceeded my goal of doing so in under 3 hours. Because of this, after the credits, Samus reveals herself to being a hot, long-haired blonde in her 20s, sporting some sort of black two-piece. This was way before that Zero Suit. So that was it for the Metroid series. After this game, it would go on a hiatus besides Samus' appearance in the first two Super Smash Bros. game, due to the death of the series' creator: Gunpei Yokoi. R.I.P. It would return later on with Metroid Prime, however... I could've taken more time to get more items, but it's okay. I could make a 100% playthrough next time, but for now I'm gonna relax on this game and go for something else... Thanks for watching, and SEE YOU NEXT MISSION!
