Known under many names: Flamesucker, vacuumengine, atmospheric engine. Technical data: Origin: "one off". Made by a talented enginebuilder in 2005. Dimentions: 355 mm * 190 mm* 250 mm Piston-size: 36 mm* 20 mm Stroke: 50 mm Capacity: 203 cm3 Valve-control: Camshaft Fuel: Alcohol Flywheel-diameter: 105 mm RPM: 100-450 (controlled by control-wheel on burner) Buildingtime: Approx. 450 hours. The builder of this model was a the german hobby-model builder Karl Syla. Over a number of years; he made 50-60 ( I dont have the accurate number) different models. I dont believe he built two completly similar models. Almost all of his models were made from scratch. Some models made with basis in castings; but heavily modified to his satisfaction. This 4 cylinder vacuum-engine is unique. Herr Syla did not make it from drawings. All from his head and intuition. On behalf of others; I have earlier asked for drawings; but he has none; as the only written documentations were notes taken during the developing-process and not filed or stored for later references. There will never be made any similar models like this.
