Abbott Bioline™ HIV 1/2 3.0 test is an immunochromatographic assay for the differential and qualitative detection of all isotypes (IgG, IgM, IgA) antibodies specific to HIV-1 including subtype O and HIV-2 simultaneously, in human serum, plasma or whole blood. To test with the Abbott Bioline HIV-1/2 3.0, you can follow these steps: 1. Prepare Wear new gloves for each patient and cover your work area with a disposable absorbent cover. Bring all components to room temperature (15–30°C). 2. Clean Use an alcohol swab to clean the patient's fourth finger. Make sure the alcohol is dry before pricking. 3. Prick Use the lancet to prick the patient's finger. Discard the lancet in a biohazard box. 4. Add diluent Add four drops of assay diluent to the round specimen well marked "S". 5. Collect blood Use a pipette to collect a drop of blood from the patient's finger and place it in the specimen well. Discard the pipette in a biohazard box. 6. Wait Wait 10–20 minutes after adding the diluent. Do not read the results after 20 minutes. 7. Interpret A visible test line, even if faint, indicates a positive result.
