12V Toaster Oven Build! DIY 144 Watts Under $50 solar powered efficient portable cooking Dash Mini

Build a portable 12 volt toaster oven for less than $50 dollars! I'm going to show you how to do it in this first part of a video series. This solar powered gem has been in my hands for a very long time, so I finally decided to share it with you. In this video we will convert an AC 120v toaster oven to a custom portable 12/24V system. Please leave a like and let me know if my video helped you out. 12 volt toaster ovens should be very cheap and readily available - the world needs them. I've been working on a mini 12v DIY volt toaster oven prototype project for over a year in the solar workshop. In this video I show some of the prototypes in action for the first time as well as an overview of my build steps. This video is for DIY solar enthusiasts who like to work with their hands, do research and learn new skills. It's more than enough for you to start your own oven project. My hope is that manufacturers will wake up and start building these appliances that I am showing. Why aren't they already on store shelves? Hopefully they will be someday.... /// Scroll down for PARTS LIST /// RECOMMENDED VIDEOS --------------------------------------------- 🟢 Learn about Ohms Law / Formula:    • How to Use Solar Panels and Ohms Law ...   🟢 Mini Solar Electric Oven project    • Mini Solar Electric Oven 12v 18v dire...   🟢 PV2L Solar Heating - lots of heating element knowledge:    • Home Shop Heating with Solar Panels! ...   🟢 More heating element knowledge:    • Simple PV Solar Heating DIY for Begin...   🟢 18V Ryobi Toaster Oven Prototype    • My Cordless 18V Toaster Oven! Portabl...   🟢 18V Mini Oven    • My 18v / 12V Ryobi-powered DIY oven! ...   🟢 Mini 100w solar electric oven    • 100W Solar Electric OVEN! Mini portab...   🟢 Direct PV DC Large Size Toaster Oven Prototype    • Direct solar powered OVEN first test ...   --------------------------------------------------- Check out our blog - Solar Thoughts Blog! https://solarpoweredge.com/ ------------------------------------------------ Like this type of video? It's small, rated at 550w. This oven looks cute, but is nothing to laugh at. It is the appliance of the century. It's the cheap, affordable DIY mini 12V oven that so far isn't found on store shelves - perhaps 25 dollars is too cheap for the market. This oven is big enough to be useful, but small and portable. By default this oven runs on AC. But I like using clean low voltage solar power and DC. When I can't find something on the store shelf, I build it myself. My workshop has a lot of prototypes - necessity is the mother of invention. This oven simply uses infrared quartz tube elements to heat and cook the food, a timer mechanism, and an overheat protection device or thermostat. Its construction is basic and pretty average for these days. In order to modify this AC powered oven to run off of 12 or 24 volts DC, it must be taken apart and modified. Inside there are 2 quartz tube elements wired to a timer switch and thermal protection device. The power cord is probably too thin for 12 volts so I did not use it. One of the most challenging parts of this build is modifying the heating elements to be properly balanced and running off of 12 volts DC. It is necessary to take the elements apart and change their resistance. Using Ohms Formula (aka ohms law) we can calculate the correct resistance for 12 volt operation. This DIY oven design is simple, cheap, efficient, lightweight, and works really well. It will cook endless meals with very little power and without burning fuel. Maybe it's just too good, too simple and too cheap for companies to be interested in making a more refined mass produced version - I guess we'll see. There is no bluetooth, no app, no wifi, no IoT and such a simple oven doesn't take a degree in engineering to figure it out. 12 volt power is not the only goal of this project. Linked above is another version of the oven that is PV-to-load. It runs straight off of solar panels, no battery, no inverter, no electronics, and no induction circuits. There are many opportunities for new products and innovations, I hope manufacturers take notice. /// PARTS LIST - please note these are optional affiliate links - if you use them I get a small commission.
