The Well-Pleasing Ethics in the Naqshbandi Tariqa or Rules and Proprieties of the Naqshbandi Sufi Path Class 20 of 30 live weekly readings in Arabic with translation to English of a classic manual for Sufi students on repentance and spiritual improvement entitled al-Aadaab al-Mardiyya fil-Tariqat al-Naqshbandiyya (الآداب المرضية في الطريقة النقشبندية), authored by our great-great-Grandshaykh from Daghistan, Shaykh Abu al-Ma`ali Jamal al-Din Efendi al-Ghazighumuqi al-Husayni al-Uskudari (1203-1292/1787-1875) and read by Gibril Fouad Haddad with authorization from Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani and Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani for the benefit of souls. Shaykh Jamal al-Din was "the first North Caucasian Naqshbandi Shaykh to compose a treatise on Naqshbandi doctrine and practices, al-Aadaab al-Mardiyya fil-Tariqat al-Naqshbandiyya. This is the only source of its kind and, as such, is crucial for the understanding of the way the Naqshbandi Tariqa was practiced in [the] early nineteeth-century North Caucasus. His understanding of the Naqshbandi Tariqa was similar to that of Shaykh Khalid [al-Baghdadi]. Both saw it first and foremost as 'a complete adherence to the Book and the Sunna, the correction of faith in accordance with the decision of the Sunni authorities, precision in following the Sharia, avoidance of innovations and of what is forbidden.'"
