The latest hatchback from the Indian carmaker, Tata Tiago revotron XE has been crafted on a new platform with a design philosophy never seen before in Tata cars. The Tiago is offered in both diesel and petrol avatars with prices ranging between Rs 3.2 lakh and Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The former is a 1.05-litre unit that generates 70PS of peak power and a peak torque of 140Nm while the latter is a 1.2-litre engine that churns out 85PS and 114Nm. The Tata Tiago revotron XE delivers a claimed mileage of 23.84kmpl and 27.28kmpl for the petrol and diesel respectively. As per reports, the Tiago has already clocked 22,000 bookings in two months since its launch with the petrol variant being the more popular model with 85 per cent of total bookings. Maruti Wagon R 5 Seater will make its India debut at the 2015 Auto Expo, while the launch will take place sometime later in 2015. In fact, the company has already imported two units of the vehicle in India for R&D purposes. One of them is powered by a 998cc, K-Series petrol engine, while the other one comes with a 1,248cc, DDiS diesel motor. The company also reported to provide the list of components to its vendors that will be used for the vehicle. Based on the Wagon R hatchback, this CAR will be positioned below the Tiago and above the redi-go. Upon its launch in the country, Maruti’s new MPV model will face a tough competition from the Datsun Go+. Just so you know, the vehicle was unveiled as a concept at the 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show.
