Michael Jackson - Throwing Your Life Away “Bad” is the hit pop single by Michael Jackson, originally released in September of 1987 as the 2nd single from the “Bad” album. Originally, the track was intended to be a duet between Michael and the legendary artist Prince, however the duet failed to come to light due to the opening lyrics of the song. Prince is quoted saying in an interview: "The first line of that song is 'your butt is mine'. Then I said 'Who's going to sing that to who?' ... because you sure aren't singing that to me, and I sure ain't singing it to you." Directed by Martin Scorsese and co-starred Wesley Snipes, the short film for "Bad" premiered in a TV special “Michael Jackson: The Magic Returns” on CBS during prime time on August 31st 1987. It has been praised by critics as one of the best videos of all time. “Bad” hit Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and remained there for two weeks, becoming the album's second number-one single, and Michael Jackson's eighth number one entry on the chart. "Bad" is certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
