[Sports Round-up] Ulsan HD win third straight K League 1 title, FC Anyang win historic promotion to top flight 울산 HD K리그 우승 3연패 확정, FC안양 창단후 첫 승격 Let's now take a look at the latest sports news. Joining us in the studio is our sports editor Paul Neat. Good evening, Paul. Hello. Starting with football. South Korea's men's team has two more matches to play this year. The roster for those two games was announced this morning. Yes, that's right, ahead of away matches with Kuwait and Palestine. Captain Son Heung-min is back after missing the last two matches through injury. Son made his return for Tottenham, too, at the weekend, after another injury set back recording an assist in Spurs' 4-1 win over Aston Villa. There's a first call-up for left back Lee Tae-seok, son of Lee Eul-yong -a member of the 2002 World Cup team -while there are first call-ups for Gimcheon Sangmu utility man Kim Bong-soo and Hannover midfielder Lee Hyun-ju. Goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu has suffered another ACL injury. Lee Chang-geun from Daejeon has been called up, so too Kim Kyeong-min of Gwangju. First up is Kuwait next Thursday, November 14th followed by Palestine in Jordan on Tuesday, November 19th. With four games played in this final round of qualification, Korea are first in Group B, three points clear of Jordan. There are a few Ulsan players in the squad, they'll be in good spirits after securing the K League 1 championship. Yes, that was secured on Friday thanks to a 2-1 win over Gangwon. It's Ulsan's third K League title in a row, having previously gone 17 years without one. Ulsan now sit seven points clear of second place Gangwon with two games to go. Manager Kim Pan-gon -who took over mid-season after Hong Myung-bo was appointed as manager of the national team -is only the second person to win the title as a player and a manager with the same club. And, in K League 2, FC Anyang's 0-0 draw with Bucheon FC 1995 on Saturday was enough to secure the title and a historic promotion to K League 1. Founded in 2013, Anyang have never played in the top flight before despite numerous attempts at promotion. They finally secured it with a game to spare. Congratulations to them both. Let's move on to esports now. South Korea's T1 has won the League of Legends World Championship. Yes, for the fifth time for both T1 and team captain Faker. In the final at London's O2 Arena on Saturday, South Korea's T1 cemented its status as the best team in the game's history. However, the ultimate decider wasn't as easy as the route to the final. China's BLG won the first game, before T1 leveled with a second map victory. BLG won game three, putting them one win away, but T1 came from behind to take the next two games,.. and clinch the title 3 to 2. Faker, real name Lee Sang-hyeok, was named MVP. The team takes home 445-thousand U.S. dollars in prize money. And finally to baseball. We've only just had the Korean Series but already the national team is gearing up for an international tournament. Yes, the World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier12 tournament is coming up. On Saturday at a sold-out Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, Korea beat Cuba 13-3. This followed a 2-zero win on Friday. Held in Japan, Mexico, and Taiwan from November 9th to the 24th, South Korea are in Group B with Cuba as well as Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and the Dominican Republic. The top two teams reach the next phase. Korea won the first Premier12 tournament in 2015 but lost to Japan in the final in 2019. According to Yonhap, manager Ryu Joong-il plans to take a young team with the 2026 World Baseball Classic and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in mind. The team will depart for Taiwan on Friday. Lots to look forward to. Thanks for that, Paul. See you next week.
