How do you measure steam flow accurately? Typically, it's measured in mass flow. But are you at super-heated steam? Are you at saturated steam? So many different variables involved. How are you going to make that measurement? Especially in all the very different pipe sizes that you'll find at a facility. And one of the other challenges is when can you shut down the steam flow? Depending on what the facility is, that can rarely happen. Sierra Instruments, has a solution for you. Our 241i with full packing gland and hot tapping capability. That's going to allow you to insert the sensor into any size pipe that you want, anytime that you need so that you can make an accurate full measurement. So, what kind of steam is your facility making? Is it superheated steam, saturated steam? From my experiences, most facilities have no idea what kind of steam they're making and that can cost you a ton of money. For example, if you have to create superheated steam, i.e. add a bunch of extra heat to the steam so that your processes will work correctly, you're wasting a lot of money. There's some inefficiency somewhere in your process. How do you determine where that's at? With a 241i VTP.
