What do you need to know before undertaking this 4-Day tour around this breathtakingly beautiful island at the south of the Inner Hebrides? 234km, 2310m of climb, all good quality road, no more than 80km in any single day with an easy day on Iona. Scenery is excellent and there are plenty of coastal bays to stop; Iona has the most important Abbey in Britain being hailed as the place where St Columba landed bringing Christianity to our lands; today it is a peaceful island for a walk, a browse through 1½ millennia of history or for some on pigrimage. If you are a keen bike-packing cyclist or would rather find a B&B or Youth Hostel there are loads of options available around Iona and Tobermory. Food & toilets are only available in the main villages and be ready for the rain to appear out of nowhere (only 20% more rainfall than London, but over an average of 247 days per year... that's about 80% likelihood of getting wet!).
