7 CREEPIEST Forests in the World

7 CREEPIEST Forests in the World From screaming woods to the Black Forest to places where people vomit for unknown reasons, these are the Top 7 Creepiest Forests and Woods. Narration provided by JaM Advertising New Mexico www.tasteofjam.com Officially called the Dering Woods, the locals of Pluckley and Smarden in Kent, England bestowed the nickname of The Screaming Woods upon this area due to the terrifying screams which emanate from it at night. There have also been reports of eerie footsteps with no known source heard during times of particularly thick fog, and nobody knows where it is coming from. Also known as the Red Forest, Worm Wood isn’t somewhere you’d want to go without a hazmat suit on, because something disastrous happened nearby a few decades ago, and that something was Chernobyl. Germany’s Black Forest gets its name from its dense canvas which in some areas barely allows any light to penetrate the forest floor, even in daytime. It has been described as feeling otherworldly and ethereal by those who walk through, and these feelings have inspired many famous myths and legends, including Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood by the Brothers Grimm. Japan’s Aokigahara Forest has many nicknames, one of which is the “Sea of Trees” due to its thick covering of foliage. But a more appropriate nickname might be the Sea of Corpses, the Ocean of your Nightmares, or The Lake of Never Ever Sleepin With The Light Off, because on any given day walking around Aokigahara, you might run into a dead body dangling from the trees. The Hoia Baciu Forest in Romania’s Transylvania region has experienced pretty much everything on the list of weird and crazy phenomena you can think of. Eerie voices at night? Check. Spookily warped trees? Check. Ghosts, strange lights and UFO sightings? Check check and check. Throw in a Yeti and you’ve got the full house. But the reason we’ve called it the Transylvanian Vomit Forest is because locals and visitors who spend too much time within the Hoia Baciu have reported feelings of nausea, insomnia, headaches, excessive thirst and projectile vomiting. In West Pomerania, Poland you’ll find one of the weirdest looking areas of woodland on the planet, the astonishing Crooked Forest. Here there are around 400 pine trees which all grow with a 90 degree bend at the base, with most of them bent facing north, and the weird thing is nobody knows why they do this. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there’s one place on this list which is definitely haunted by some of the most ghoulish individuals on the planet. This is the Sambisa Forest, and it is the home of the bloodthirsty terror group Boko Haram.
