I bought this Solid State Bally Night Rider as a non working project years ago and it came with this weak shooter rod plunge issue. I never looked into it until today. Finally looking really close and weighing all of my options of how to tackle this issue netted me with the fix. It wasn't apparent, but I stuck with it and resolved it in the end. I really do like this game and enjoy it for what it is and the era in which it was manufactured. It's not all about modes, but the simplicity of points and the strategy of nabbing the Double Bonus and racking up big points. ...It doesn't hurt it a bit that DJ Mike and I blew it up with his killer Data Deluxe music and my custom music hardware mod.
