Navami Tithi Timing : October 13, 8:08 pm - October 14, 6:52 pm In the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Saraswati Puja is celebrated on the 9th day (last day of Navratri) alongside Ayudha puja whereas in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh it is observed on the 10th day (Dussera). However in the western and northern parts of India, Goddess Saraswati is worshipped for 4 days during the auspicious Navaratri period. The puja begins with Saraswati Avahan, followed by Saraswati Puja, on 3rd day Saraswati Balidan is done and the ceremonies end with Saraswati Visarjan. On the occasion of Saraswati Pooja, devotees worship Devi Saraswati, the Hindu Goddess of Knowledge and Wisdom. In Southern India, on the following day of Saraswati Pooja, children aged between 4-5 years, begin their Vidyarambham or Akshara Abhyasam ceremony. Saraswati Pooja is among the most grandly celebrated and revered festivals. On the day of Saraswathi Puja or Ayutha puja is celebrated very big manner and Saraswathi is worshiped, as well the books and educational tools representing Saraswathi, all instruments and implements like Computers, Printers, Spanners, and other hardware tools are also worshipped on the ninth day. Navaratri or Saraswathi Puja or Ayutha puja popularly miscalled Durga Puja, is one of the greatest of Hindu festivals. People used to arrange god and goddess dolls on racks and sang laxmi’s song at night. These collective events are called ‘Golu’ in addition they prepared sundal(food) for the devotees and neighbours to share each other . It is, as its name suggests, a festival of the Shaktis, or worshippers of Shakti, the origin of the divine attribute of Power represented in female form, and regarded, in her most comprehensive character, as the living Energy or Force of Nature the mighty Mother of the Universe. The Shakti is adored in various forms, all female, and under various names, all signifying special attributes, Adi Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana akshmi, Dhairya Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi being only a few of her thousand nicknames. Some of these are benignant deities, calculated to inspire love and reverence; others are only what we must call evil spirits, fit to inspire awe and strike terror into the heart. Originally the Saraswathi Puja or Ayutha was held for nine days in succession, commencing with the bright fortnight of the Tamil month of Puratasi (August –September) the whole Puja season being collectively called the Navaratri, or 'the nine nights,' night, because being essentially a Tantric form of worship it used to be conducted in the secrecy of the night. The bodies and minds of people undergo a considerable change on account of the changes in Nature. Sri Rama is worshipped during Ramnavmi, and Mother Durga during Navaratri. Navaratri or Durga Puja only by the bonds of association ; it does not form a factor of the religious ceremony, for the two celebrations are held independently of each other, and in some parts of India one or the other only holds the field. Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navratri[citation needed] festival (festival of triumph), a Hindu festival which is traditionally celebrated in India. It is also called "Astra Puja". In simple terms, it means “Worship of Instruments”. It is celebrated in Tamil Nadu as Ayudha Pujai (Tamil: ஆயுத பூஜை), in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as Aayudha Pooja (Telugu: ఆయుధ పూజ), in Kerala as Ayudha Puja (Malayalam: ആയുധ പൂജ), "Astra Puja" (Odia: ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ପୂଜା) or "Ayudha Puja" in Odisha, "Shastra Puja" (Marathi: आयुध पूजा/ खंडे नवमी) or "Ayudha Puja/ Khande Navami" in Maharashtra, and in Karnataka (in erstwhile Mysore State) as “Ayudha Puje” (Kannada: ಆಯುಧ ಪೂಜೆ). The festival falls on the tenth day of the bright half of Moon's cycle of 15 days (as per Almanac) in the month of September/October, and is popularly a part of the Dasara or Navaratri or Durga Puja or Golu festival. On the tenth day of the Dasara festival, weapons and tools are worshipped. In Karnataka, the celebration is for killing of the demon king Mahishasura by goddess Durga. After slaying of the demon king, the weapons were kept out for worship. While Navaratri festival is observed all over the country but in South Indian states, where it is widely celebrated as Ayudha Puja, there are slight variations of worship procedure. The principal Shakti goddesses worshiped during the Ayudha puja are Saraswati (the Goddess of wisdom, arts and literature), Lakshmi and Parvati (the divine mother), apart from various types of equipment; it is on this occasion when weapons are worshipped by soldiers and tools are revered by artisans. In Orissa, tools traditionally used for cultivation like plough, war like sword and dagger, and inscription writing like "karani" or "lekhani" are worshiped. #navarataripooja #bookpooja2021 #vijayadashamipooja
