Life Begins at the Hop, baby! It sure does. This XTC single is off the 1979 Drums and Wires album that had "Making Plans for Nigel on it. This is my fave song on the record. The lyrics are clear what this song is about. Youth. Dancing. At the church. Fun. Ridiculous clothes. All is exactly how it should be. This was a Colin Moulding tune, who would only have a couple of songs per album. He was responsible for far more of the big hits given how few songs of his made the albums... These videos serve as lessons on how I play this bunch of Pop, Rock, and Reggae songs - sometimes as a single guitarist playing the only guitar part, though that's rare. And sometimes if there is more than one guitar part, then trying to find the single good path through the tune. I complete one pass, demonstrating different Rhythm parts, styles, and techniques. There is no talking. No discussion. No note-for-note explanations. As such, for clarity, my guitar is supposed to be louder in the mix than it would ever be in a live setting. But, if you really want to hear what I hear, do what I do and put on a good pair headphones with great bass response! It's worth it. Why this is important to Rhythm Guitar: It's the relentless riff. Can you play this throughout the song without messing it up? I can't! Also, there are so many different guitar bits in it. I pretty much show you all of them. Still, it's a such a fun song to sing. Too bad this is not a vocal-focused YouTube channel, huh? #artofrhythmguitar #echohead #rhythmguitar
