The video compares a 24GHz and an 80GHz FMCW radar level transmitter. Advantages and similarities of these two devices will be shown and conclusions presented. Topics are: System dynamics using the example of low reflective media: 01:41 Radiation pattern of the antenna: 02:54 Advantages of flush mounted lens antennas: 05:22 Measurement through walls and foils: 06:25 Measurement through grids and sieves: 07:45 Signal bandwidth: 08:41 Application examples and cleaning with Sprayballs: 09:38 For more information, please visit our website https://krohne.link/optiwave-radar-level. FMCW radar is a fairly common technology these days. KROHNE, however, has spend years and years researching FMCW radar and has come up not just with a multitude of different FMCW radar antennas, but with many different applications for FMCW radar especially in the field of measurements. This video on FMCW radar explains the basic principles via a comparison between a 24 Gigahertz and an 80 Gigahertz FMCW radar antenna. We are using illustrative animations to show you the exact way the radar signals distribute, recognize shapes and can be used to measure levels even through plastic roofs and foils. The measurements by the FMCW radar applications are reliable, as we will demonstrate, even through grids and sieves. This means FMCW radar can be used in precise level measurement for very weakly reflective products such as plastic granulars and wood chips. Finally, the demonstration will show how even cleaning via water jets does not deter the FMCW radar at all.
