"Texas Female Artists of the Nineteenth Century" Presentation by San Ratcliffe, Ph.D.

San Ratcliffe, Ph.D., retired head of Bywaters Special Collections, Hamon arts Library, Southern Methodist University This presentation will examine works executed by women artists in Texas, primarily during the second half of the nineteenth century, and how their careers laid the foundation for the professional activities of subsequent women artists in the state. Artists discussed will include well-known ones, such as Elisabet Ney, as well as somewhat more obscure artists, such as Ida Weisselberg Hadra.
