Listed amongst the largest temple complexes in the country, this grand temple is dedicated to goddess Katyayani. Established by Sant Shree Nagpal Baba in 1974, the temple has now become an important pilgrimage center and is visited by a large number of devotees throughout the year. After his death in 1998, Baba Nagpalji’s samadhi shrine was also constructed in the premises of Shiv-Gauri Nageshwar Mandir that forms a part of the temple complex. The exquisite architecture of the temple is marked by a fabulous use of marble and intricately-carved jaalis. It is also counted among the heritage sites of South Delhi. Spread over an area of about 70 acres, the temple features separate as well as shared areas dedicated to each deity divided into three complexes. There are captivating idols of deities like Katyayani, Laxmi-Ganesh, Shiva-Parvati, and Hanuman. To witness the religious fervour, visit the temple during the Hindu festivals of Dussehra, Mahashivratri and Janmashtami, when special pujas and grand celebrations are held. Thousands of devotees assemble here during these times, with delicious prasad being prepared on a large scale. Chhatarpur Temple Timings: Katyayani Mandir timings are similar to that of other shaktipeeths in India. The temple opens for maha aarti before day break around 5. AM and closes after 10. PM. Chhatarpur Mandir Hotels: Being a landmark site and a revered place of worship, Chhatarpur Temple provides accommodation to pilgrims visiting from other territories. There is a dharamshala in the temple complex endowed with all the basic facilities, food, water, cooler and proper toilets and baths.
