In 4 main worlds and some smaller worlds you have to play through platforming levels to wake up a Smurf at the end of a world. There are collectibles to find, some of which unlock new worlds, while another collectible also unlocks new costumes for your Smurf. The controls are direct and it feels good to control the Smurf. In some levels, there are also new abilities for your Smurf for a short period of time, which add variety to the gameplay. Boss battles are also a must in this genre and the game offers a few of them, but there could be a few more. Like the game itself, these are not particularly difficult, but they are nicely executed. The game can best be compared to Super Mario 3D World, even if the game is a little easier here. So don't expect a challenging plattformer here. Whether you play alone or in co-op with your friend, you should have a good time with the game.
