Having voiced that I also wanted to do a "ball bearing conversion" for the cross-slide it was time to "walk the talk". I have done this before on several occasions, and then mounted the "victim" onto a faceplate on a Myford Super7 and bored out the to fit the races. I have showed this partly in this earlier video • Myford Super 7 - cross feed modificat... . PS! Then I didn't show the reverse side machining, but for this operation I just mounted the bracket the other way using a pair of longer bolts/stand-offs. This time around I had the idea to try out and show an alternative method using the Schaublin SV52 in a horizontal setup. There are of course also other alternatives, like a simple end-mill job or a slitting cutter setup in the "regular" holder in the mill, as well as using a lathe with the same cutter/holder mounted in the spindle and the job mounted to an angle plate or in a vertical milling apparatus of some kind. I also thought I could show a little of me using the counter-sink tooling I have (doesn't see much usage, so here was an opportunity .. )
