This is a request by abcdefg, I hope you like it! 虫 (or 蟲, mushi) means insect or bug. Translation by me. Annotations: [Added May 26th 2020] "I'm unable to trust anyone - even him" - This is wrong and I'm not sure why I didn't notice when I translated this last year. Just scratch the "even him" part. It's an expression meaning "absolutely everyone". "But when the kindness I'm holding onto will surely disappear" - "Holding onto" is literally "grasping with one's hand" in the lyrics. "You hypocrite killed me" - I chose singular because I believe it refers to "him", who was already mentioned in the song prior to this line. It could also be plural though. Also what is interesting is that while "hypocrite" is usually 偽善者 (gizensha), Kyo decides to spell it 偽善人 (gizenbito). The meaning arguably stays the same, but to make sure, the individual kanji mean "someone who only pretends to be good". "[This all too common answer] Turns living back into meaningless death" - "Meaningless death" is literally "white death" (白死). Doing some research I found out that among other expressions (like "a dog's death") it means "dying in vain". "My own heart killed me" - Usually 私心 (watashigokoro, "my heart") is read shishin and refers to selfishness. While Kyo makes it clear with his reading that "my own heart" is meant here, I think it's interesting that when looking at the lyrics in written form this word looks like "selfishness". --------------- I do not own Dir En Grey or any of their music or performances.
