Khansahib Ustad Abdul Karim Khan recorded 'Ugich Ka Kanta' twice. One version is more well-known because it was included in the compilation LP in the 1970s. The other 78 rpm version - however - remained in obscurity and became a rare item. This is it, and the performance is strikingly different from the other one - both in improvisation and treatment, and has a somewhat ethereal quality about it. It leaves one amazed at the endless creativity and imagination that Khansahib was gifted with, so much that every time he sang the same composition - it became something new.
