HERE IT IS! The rare MRT Line 3 pre-recorded Public Address (PA) System. The safety reminders vary on each station in both lanes (northbound and southbound). The announcements come in English and Filipino translations, which is beneficial for local and foreign travellers. The PA starts playing after departing the first station and upon arriving the second station. This was recorded on November 8, 2023, the second day the 2023 Christmas-themed train (3008-3060-3009) was deployed on the main line, which is why Christmas carols and jingles can mostly be heard as the melody/ambience music while the train is running. This default PA system was used in the early 2000s, until it was replaced by the MRT Audio Global System (MAGS) that was used in around 2007-2012. The use of pre-recorded PA systems in MRT-3 were gradually halted in 2012 for unknown reasons, possibly due to the end of contract with the MAGS PA system contractor, until the default version made a significant comeback in 2022 and in 2023. One of the very possible reasons why this PA is not oftenly used is due to it being outdated. The PA system includes outdated information, including the COVID-19 Pandemic reminders, such as the August 21 coach segregation scheme, mandatory wearing of face masks, no-talking policy, and the no-calls policy. Let's hope that this audio system will be modified up to the latest version and will be used more oftenly once again. This will not benefit not only the passengers, but also the train operator. Pre-recorded PA systems are more pleasant and brings out much more convenience compared to the manual microphone PA system. The voice talent behind this announcement recording is Ms. Pinky Aseron.
