Come along as I share my propagation tips for a fantastic hanging plant - STRING OF BANANAS (Senecio radicans). I got this plant completely FREE - I found a small broken stem of String of Bananas on the floor of Home Depot, and brought it home to turn it into a larger potted plant. Like its cousin, String of Pearls, String of Bananas is an easy-care succulent, requires very little water, but does thrive in brighter conditions. Perfect to be hung in a patio or sunny window. This plant was found by Proplifting, which some people disagree on the legality and morality of - I did not break this plant, it was already broken, on the ground and about to be swept up when I asked the Home Depot staff if I could bring it home for free... which they did! Here is how I took care of it. Unlike other succulents, String of Bananas does require a node, or a part of its stem to propagate new roots and offshoots. Luckily, it is really easy to spot the node, and one stem can even be trimmed into multiple pieces to grow multiple offshoots of the plant.
