It felt good to get back on the bike after a long off-season recovering from injury. I can say with full confidence that sitting around for 7 months did not make me faster! Pace was about 6 seconds off from my personal best, and the shoulder definitely felt sore the next day. P1 in my class, P2 overall, and set fastest laptime of the race. Few things to watch out for in the video: 1. A rider in the second wave jumps the start. 2. Red flag in the first lap of the race caused a restart. 3. If you listen closely, you will hear my rear wheel hopping when going into the chicane. I was dealing with a non-working slipper clutch all weekend which made for some very interesting corner entries! 4. In the two starts, I began revving the bike and slowly slipping the clutch way too early. Come to find out, I burned some plates when I did this. Will definitely wait for the board to go up next time to minimize clutch wear/damage.
