Digital Child seminar: 'What makes a good childhood in Australia today?'

The Digital Child's 'What makes a good childhood in Australia today?' public seminar was hosted at the Telstra Customer Insights Centre in Melbourne on 7 August 2024. We thank special guests Professor Sonia Livingstone (London School of Economics and Political Science) and Dr John Davis (Deakin University) for their insights at the seminar, and Professor Julian Sefton-Green (Deakin University) for chairing. The seminar's aim was to bring together an array of voices within the Australian community to answer questions around what a 'good childhood' means - What make a good childhood? Who should decide what a good childhood looks like? - and featured a new video with a broad range of perspectives to answer those questions. Video participants ranged from children, parents and grandparents, to social workers, and representatives from organisations including the Raising Children Network, Alannah & Madeline Foundation, TalkiPlay, Life Without Barriers, and more.
