The Idiots travel to Sutliff’s 175th Anniversary Celebration and CORPS’ Richmond Pipe Show

On today’s episode, we chronicle our journey and experiences at Sutliff’s 175th Anniversary Celebration and factory tour, dinner at Havana ‘59 (http://havana59.com/), our stay at the Ragland Mansion(https://ragland-mansion.com), and the C.O.R.P.S. Richmond Pipe Show. We brought along ​⁠‪@jayjohnson1687‬ on our journey. You may remember him from our episode on rope tobacco paired with a dark and stormy. At the events, we had the amazing opportunity to sit and interview a few wonderful people, ​⁠‪@mikereese15‬ , ​⁠‪@davebithell55‬, and McCray. We learned why matches are far inferior to lighters…​⁠‪@joshgoosecooper‬ you are very wrong!! We met the makers of some great pipes, ​⁠‪@Talbertpipes‬, ​⁠‪@pipesofold8066‬, Ranz Freehands (https://www.ranzpipes.com) and Merchant Service Pipes (https://merchantservicepipes.com). We also met ​⁠​⁠‪@larryblackett9126‬ (of Buttons 4 Your Britches) whom Scott and Jay, although owning plenty, had to buy more of his tampers. We were gifted a new puck tobacco blend from James Kopp, Autumn Apothecary, along with a “Welcome to Virginia” package of 3 pewter Jefferson Cups and a sample of 2017 C&D Epiphany, that already has crystals forming on it! We picked up multiple tobacco blends from ​⁠‪@sutlifftobbaco‬ ​⁠‪@sutlifftobacco8491‬ , met the President of Sutliff, Jeremy McKenna, the office manager Jake from ​⁠​⁠‪@TobaccoPipeStore‬ and his amazing staff, including Aimee! Also, we obtained their September Compare and Share (https://www.tobaccopipes.com/compare-...) which will be featured soon on an episode. And we got three pension pipes from ‪@MissouriMeerschaumCompany‬, via TobaccoPipes, the Blue Diamond and Mockingbird. Lastly, we picked up some new tobacco blends. Flatcap’s Finest (blend from ​⁠‪@FlatCapPiper‬), Frostika (blend from ​⁠‪@TheGreywoodieShow‬), and Flannel Coffee (blend from ​⁠‪@GetPiped‬). All of which will be smoked on future episodes. Also Scott found and bought his unicorn, McCelland’s Frog Morton!! Which will most likely make an appearance at some point in the future.
