Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance To Cooke City: Virtual Yellowstone Tour!

This is one of very few virtual Yellowstone tours we have which go outside Yellowstone. The tiny towns of Silvergate and Cooke City are located just beyond the park's northeast entrance. Blink as you go through and you'll just about miss them! There are a few lodging properties in Silvergate and Cooke City, as well as some restaurants, and the scenery is beyond spectacular, with towering mountains everywhere you look. Cooke City is the gateway to the Beartooth Highway, a really stunning mountain pass which climbs up to almost 11 000 feet and gets mountains of snow, if you'll excuse the pun. Because of the snow, the Beartooth Highway closes early in the fall, and only opens again later in the spring. This is the reason why the road from Cooke City through Silvergate and into Yellowstone, all the way to Gardiner in Montana, is the only road in Yellowstone which stays open year round.
