Unboxing of a Faber Castell TK 9400 2mm Clutch Pencil/Lead Holder and first impressions of holding and using the pencil. This pencil was bought for the purpose of architectural/engineering/mechanical technical drawing. A strong and consistent lead is necessary for proper draughtsmanship, and the authors of the previous century (a time before CAD where architects were required to be highly skilled in draughtsmanship and technical drawing representation) recommended using a clutch pencil lead holder with 2H leads for sharp and consistent drawing. This pencil and lead were recommended because the pencil and lead are designed to be durable for striking deep, solid lines. It's not recommended to use an artist's set of pencils for technical drawing because they tend to smudge and need constant re-sharpening.
