Intro - 00:00:00 Act 1 - 00:01:00 Act 2 - 00:16:55 Act 3 - 00:36:44 Act 4 - 00:49:42 Act 5 - 1:06:05 Results Screen - 1:22:32 This is a multi-segment speedrun of Metal Gear Solid 4, starting from a new game file and obtaining Big Boss Emblem. My original goal was sub-1:46, so I'm happy with this time. I wanted to get the best time I could with a reasonable effort, and this took about 2 weeks to complete. I used safer strats in a few places, and I also lost a good amount of time to menuing and skipping cutscenes. I also neglected to get smoke grenades in Act 2, which I realized near the start of Act 4, and I ended up losing about 10-12 seconds getting them in Act 3 instead. However, in the process of re-doing those segments, I improved them by about 5 seconds, so that was mitigated somewhat. I'm not a huge fan of the "Resistance Trick" because it manipulates the in-game time, but I included it in the run because it is allowed by the community, and it makes the run a lot less boring.
