After a long, dry roadwalk I finally reached the Grand Canyon. What an awesome experience it was! The Hayduke descends the Nankoweap Trail before bushwhacking alongside the river for about 10 miles. You then need to hitch a ride across in a raft before fording the Little Colorado River. Then it's the Beamer Trail, Escalante Route, and Tonto Trail. I took the Grandview Trail up to the South Rim. Along the way I got some awesome river magic from rafters, making the experience even more memorable in addition to the jaw dropping scenery. Unfortunately the North Kaibab Trail was closed, and Shinumo Creek was raging making the North Bass Trail impassable, so I decided to wait until (hopefully) the fall to get back through the canyon and to Zion, that way I'll be able to hit Saddle Canyon, Tapeats Creek and the other highlights of this next section that are a no go right now.
