Every family is different. Some families are biologically related (family of origin) and some are not (partner or family of creation), but generally speaking families share, or once shared, strong emotional bonds. For some, family can be a difficult topic. Relationships within families can be strained, codependent or dysfunctional. Trauma, addiction and mental health conditions can significantly affect families and their ability to foster connection and enjoy healthy relationships with each other. But how can we build healthier relationships with our families? Hosted by Diane Young, South Pacific Private’s Addictions and Trauma Specialist, Diane will share her insights on how we can develop healthy relationships for stronger families, what the traits of healthy relationships and healthy families are, and discuss what common challenges families may face in maintaining these relationships, and what families can do together to build better relationships.
