Presented by the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research and Dr. Daniel Culver of the Cleveland Clinic. Small fiber neuropathy (SFN) is a common and underappreciated condition that affects many sarcoidosis patients. Predominately affecting peripheral nerve fibers which control perception of pinprick, cold, and heat, symptoms may include numbness, tingling (pins and needles sensation), and burning, stabbing, or electric-like pain. Often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia, small fiber neuropathy can be devastating to patients with few reliable treatment options. ARA 290 is a potential therapy currently being researched for its safety and efficacy for the treatment of neuropathic pain in patients with sarcoidosis, as well as its potential for disease modification and long-term functional improvement in this condition. In this webinar, Dr. Daniel Culver of the Cleveland Clinic will provide an overview of small fiber neuropathy in sarcoidosis patients from diagnosis to treatment. He will also discuss the results of the most recent clinical trials looking at ARA 290 as a potential new treatment that may help sarcoidosis sufferers. To learn more, visit www.stopsarcoidosis.org.
