Talisker. A distillery with a lot of new competition in its vacinity, and a distillery that, in many peoples eyes, needs...reinvention...but in a way that benefits the drinker. Outside of that view, this is the Talisker Parley release. A whisky that has a 3% donation from every bottle goes to helping replant 100,000,000 square meters of ocean forest. Finished in XO Cognac casks for an unknown amount of time and bottled at 48.6% - it is disappointing. On paper, this should be brilliant, but it falls short in some places and then loses its identity in others. Very powerful cask influence with little Talisker character pushing through. A rather large price point of £85, with less than 5% of that going to charity... which is the point of the bottle.
