To make things clear, the 250 GTO '64, 330 GTO and Shelby Daytona Coupe's are "recreations" or replica's. This video is a compilation of the Gentlemen Drivers class at the Historic Grand Prix 2017 at Zandvoort. Longest video I made as I had almost an hour of footage and didn't want to cut it as much to 15 or 20 min. :P So enjoy half an hour of historic racing! Now the 90 min lasting race was amazing. Allard Kalff in the blue #410 Corvette Grand Sport took the lead over Nicky Pastorelli in the Ferrari 250 GTO '64. Allard had build up a 9 second lead over the GTO '64 which was battling with the green #94 Cobra as a safety car period brought the pack back together. At the restart Nicky took the lead from the green #94 Cobra as Allard in the Corvette was struck by technical problems and dropped back. The 250 GTO '64 with Nicky was comfortably leading with 3 AC Cobra's and a red Daytona Coupe drifting along the way. Especially Tom Coronel in the grey #75 Cobra with a black stripe across the hood. Watch out for him at the Scheivlak corner. :P At the end the red #2 Daytona Coupe was catching the 250 as it was sounding rough like it had a broken exhaust or something. As you can here at 31:27 Eventually the #2 went by the 250 and won the race. The 250 became second, still a great result after 7th last year. And Nicky Pastorelli drove brilliantly. The 330 GTO had to retire, the lovely Bizzarini 5300 as well. More info about the recreations/replicas/rebuilds: The 250 GTO '64 is made by Roelofs Engineering in The Netherlands. This company is one of the best in restoring and preparing historic Ferrari road and race cars. Their website: http://www.roelofsengineering.com/?lg=nl It's based on a 250 GT (don't know exactly what version) and was build by Piet Roelofs himself to be a genuine copy of the real thing. It raced at the Goodwood Members Meeting 2017. So if this GTO as a recreation is allowed to race at Goodwood, than Piet Roelofs did an excellent job. Or, why does Goodwood allow recreations to take part. As Goodwood is the pinnacle of Historic racing. It makes it more confusing as which Ferrari (or historic cars in general) is the real deal. Maybe someone can share some information about this subject. The 330 GTO is probably a 330 GT 2+2 (correct me if I'm wrong) with a 330 GTO body on it. The real 330 GTO has a large bump on the hood for the 4 liter V12 and has larger wheels than the 250 GTO. The 330 GTO is also prepared by Roelofs Engineering. Shelby Daytona Coupe's where build from different types of AC Cobra's. Results: http://resultscdn.getraceresults.com/...
