Part 2 is here: • Candle Making Questions & Answers - P... This video was a live Questions and Answers (Q&A) with a fellow candle maker, Bob from New York. Bob reached out to me with several questions and topics he wanted to discuss. This is Part 1 of 2 where we talk about single wicking hard to wick jars like the libby/tumblers. We discuss best practices when it comes to wicking and melt pools. We also discuss curing, cure times, and whether to cover candles with lids or not during the curing process. We discuss these topics in detail. To spare everyone from extra long videos, I broke this up into Part 1 and 2. In Part 2, we will be covering a few other topics and questions so tune back in for that one when it is posted. I should have it posted in the next few days. Please remember to subscribe and hit the bell icon so you are alerted when the next video is posted. Lastly, a big shout out to Bob for volunteering to have this live Q&A recorded to help other candle makers. If you are interested in the same, please feel free to reach out to me. Email me at "[email protected]". Thanks everyone! ***** Hey all, just wanted to clarify a couple things that may have come across unintended during this video. I was never trying to suggest 6006 was not a good wax. Most of you know that I use it in many of my candles. I think what I said in a joking matter (good luck wicking 6006 in a tumbler) was said or taken a bit out of context. Bob had already brought this concern to me prior to the meeting and we already had some conversation about that specifically. It wasn't meeting his goals. So that comment I made was in reference to the issue he was combatting. It was meant as an off the cuff comment in a joking matter. So I apologize if it came across differently. I also wanted to address any concerns about safety when making candles. I do not mean to scare anyone away from this at all. Otherwise I wouldn't have an entire youtube channel dedicated to helping others make candles. But... I think it is is EXTREMELY important to be brutally honest and transparent about the risks when making candles if not tested properly. Pretending those risks do not exist or overlooking them is one of the reasons we all see pictures and videos of candle fires and other shattered jars. It is not meant to be a scare tactic... but simply educational. There is little to no risk with candle making with proper processes and testing. No one should be afraid of that. But, we are ignoring the elephant in the room if we dont talk about safety and risks when those questions come up. Just my two scents on this. Hope everyone understand where I am coming from. Anyway, thanks for being here and keep making candles! :) ***** //OTHER VIDEOS YOU MIGHT LIKE All About Wicks: • All About Candle Wicks | Details of t...
