3rd version of this video. This is the one i wanted to make and wanted to cover everything. For all the gameplay in this video i used Virtual Desktop. You need a gaming PC to play Boneworks and then a way to stream the game from your PC to your quest 2. Boneworks is available to purchase on steam and the oculus desktop store. Ive made this diagram to show how it works. The main quest you have to ask yourself is do you have a gaming PC? If Yes you have 4 options. 1. Virtual Desktop Virtual Deskotp is my preferred method and streams the game from your computer to your headset via wifi. It costs money. The latency is not noticeable and once you get rid of the cable its hard to go back. 2. Air Link Oculus version to Virtual Desktop is free. 3. AL VR Opensource version of Virtual Desktop and oculus link. 1. Oculus Link Oculus link involves plugging your quest 2 into your gaming computer. Just requires a usb 3.0 to usb c cable. If you don’t have a gaming PC you cant rent a cloud PC. There are many services to do this in many regions and ill leave a good video below on how to do it below. You stream the game from a cloud computer to your headset. Apparently the latency is manageable and if you have no gaming computer its your only option and worth trying! Controllers The controllers work great. The Grab button groups your last 3 fingers. The Fire/ Interact button is your index finger. You can close and open your thump using the capacitive touch sensors on the controller. You can adjust your grip on objects using the trigger button. The elbow tracking works and I had 0 issues using them. The rings don’t really get in the way either. I have not found a way to get individual finger tracking easily on the quest 2 like on the index controllers. Even using the quest 2 inbuild finger tracking it still groups your last 3 fingers. Similar Game A similar quest 2 game is called sports mode. It’s the closest I have come to scratch the boneworsk itch on a quest 2. If you enjoyed the video consider subscribing.
