We head to Dateland, AZ, home of the world famous date shakes, and look at some of the area's World War II history with a visit to the sites of Camp Horn and Camp Hyder, ending at the Agua Caliente Pioneer Cemetery. Dateland has been a popular road stop since the 1920s, first on Highway 80 and now on Interstate 8. It is best know for its date shakes, but the area also played a part in getting soldiers ready for World War II. Near by are the sites for Camp Horn and Camp Hyder. At the Camp Horn site there is a monument honoring fallen soldiers of the 81st Infantry Division, but not much else. Amazingly however buildings still remain at Camp Hyder. ►Please subscribe for weekly updates showcasing some of our adventures: / @sidetrackadventures ►Also please follow Sidetrack Adventures on Instagram: / sidetrackadventures
