#137

Sri Sathya Sai Students (Alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions) are organizing an evening program entitled SAMARPAN on the 4th Sunday of every month at SIVAM, Hyderabad. It is about re-living those moments spent with HIM, re-connecting with HIM and soaking in the Divine presence. We have an opportunity to listen to the Leelas of the Lord from the devotees who were blessed with Divine association through “SAMARPAN” The #137 SAMARPAN is being held at SIVAM on the evening of 25th August 2024. We are truly blessed to have Sri Laxminarayana Kote as the speaker for the day. Sri Laxminarayana Kote, an alumnus of SSSIHL, PSN Campus, was born to the pious couple, Sri (Late) Kote Parameshwarayya (former Sevadal Convenor, Dakshin Kannada Dt., Karnataka) and Smt Savithri amma. With his parents being Swami’s devotees, it was natural for him to yearn to study in Swami’s institution, and Swami, with HIS infinite love, gave him the opportunity to join PUC in 1976 at the then Sri Sathya Sai Arts, Science and Commerce College, Brindavan. He then did his BA and went on to complete his MA (History and Indian Culture) from SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam, in 1983. Sri Laxminarayana Kote, has had the singular greatest good fortune to be chosen by Swami to be HIS “room boy” and was supremely blessed to serve at HIS residence, in both Brindavan and Prasanthi Nilayam, for 15 wonderful years. Amongst other experiences, Swami graciously chose him to accompany HIM on several trips—to Chokkady in January 1979, to Chennai for Sai Katha recording in 1981, to Ooty and Kodaikanal in 1989. Blessed with a rich, mellifluous voice, he had the golden opportunity to be a lead Bhajan singer in both Brindavan and Prasanthi Nilayam, right from 1976 onwards. He was blessed, on many occasions, to render, along with Sri Hirok Changakoti (another Sai alumnus), the popular Telugu ballad Sri Rama Katha at Swami’s behest. The gifted singer that he is, Sri Laxminarayana Kote cherishes the opportunity of having participated in all the recordings of "A Bridge Across Time" (a string of melodious Bhajans presented by the former students of SSSIHL), brought out by Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust (Publications Division), Prasanthi Nilayam. As instructed by Swami, after his PG, he served as a teacher in PSN Campus, until 1993. Abiding by HIS advice, he returned to Chokkady to serve as Correspondent at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Kendra, Chokkady (the school that his father had established with Swami’s Blessings) from 1993 to 2017 and later as Chairman, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Seva Trust, Chokkady from 2017 to 2024. Currently, he offers his services as Member, National Council for Sri Sathya Sai Schools, which work under the aegis of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam. Sri Laxminarayana Kote is married to Smt Jayashree and is blessed with two daughters, Smitha and Shreya. DATE: 25TH AUGUST, 2024 TIMINGS: 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM VENUE: SIVAM, HYDERABAD Let us all together step forward to recreate the joy we were all blessed with by Bhagawan and offer ourselves with all our heart in recharging our spirits by this monthly program Samarpan. Please do join us with your family and friends, for an enchanting evening of Vedam chanting with soulful Bhajans and the evening rendezvous by HIS boys.
