Did you know that if you make happiness your ultimate goal, it might do you more harm than good? Granted, it sounds like an unanswerable dilemma, but this is the phenomenon known as the "happiness paradox." Although it seems that, like any other goal, if we pursue happiness with all our heart we will eventually reach it one day, but the truth in this particular case is a bit more complicated. Simply put, happiness is not just a check box in our daily goal notebook. One of the keys to happiness, ironically, is to stop trying to be happy.
