4 Reasons I Disliked My Dream Bike BMW R1250RT

Why I don't like my dream bike BMW 1250RT The BMW 1250 RT was my dream bike, I liked it a lot and I thought it would be perfect for me.....of course if I ever save enough money . You know, a touring bike for long trips. So I went to the test days , where I also tried out this motorcycle. Well, to my unpleasant surprise, I found out that my dream motorcycle does not suit me at all. Here are a few reasons why this is so. I would survive the first three anyway, but not the fourth one! 1. It's heavy .... I knew it would be heavy, but it is really heavy. When I sat on it and tilted it from the stand to a vertical position, I could feel its weight. So it bothered me a little..., but as I said... I would get used to it. 2. As soon as I started, I engaged the unit, pressed the clutch and wanted to put the turn signal to the left, but I could not reach the turn signal lever. Even though I had my hand as far to the right as the handle would allow, I still couldn't reach the lever. So when I held down the clutch I basically couldn't switch the turn signal on. I had to change to the neutral and then turn on the turn signal, so if I stopped somewhere at an intersection and forget to switch on the turn signal and I have the gear engaged and the clutch pressed, I cannot switch on the turn signal, which on a motorcycle that costs from 20,000 euros I think it should work. And I know that it works on other BMW motorcycles, for example, I also tried the BMW f900xr that day and I could easily reach the lever there. So this bothered me 3. We went to such a turn on one bridge and the turn was basically like 270 degrees. Maybe if I had taken that turn on the RT first, it wouldn't have bothered me, but a few hours before I had taken the same turn on the F900XR. It turned beautifully, even at quite a good speed. The RT needed a much bigger curve and you could also feel its weight in that corner, so I didn't enjoy that corner as much as I did a few hours before on the XR. I don't think I would have much fun with RT in sharp alpine switchbacks. 4. But what bothered me the most and what surprised me was that there was no wind at all and I was warm. Before, I thought it would be great, that it would be an advantage if the wind didn't blow on me, because I'm still solving the size of the front shield on my motorcycle so that it doesn't create turbulence on my helmet. RT has a great wind shield that can be electronically moved to different positions with a button while driving. It could be tilted almost vertically like scooters have, but even when I had it all the way down in the lowest position, no air was blowing on me and I was warm in the helmet, while it was only 17 degrees outside, if now it's warm in my helmet so then what will I do in the summer when it will be 30 degrees? Yes, the wind protection was great, it didn't blow on my head or body or legs, but it was so sterile for me that I almost thought I was riding in a car and not on a motorcycle. So these were the 4 things that bothered me about the RT... but mainly the wind protection, which, paradoxically, I was originally looking forward to the most. It's a great motorcycle, full of technology, with great performance, it's an ideal highway cruiser...but it's not for me. I liked the BMW F900 XR much more, because it is more playful and does not have such perfect wind protection. And finally, it is also cheaper. I will be happy if you write me your opinion about this bike in the comments.  Chapters: 00:00 Intro 00:45 Weight 01:08 Turn signal problem 02:15 Taking corners 03:00 Wind protection #bmwr1250rt
