Beginning Drawing Atelier book review & how I used it in my K-12 classroom

This video attempts to be a review of how I use Juliette Aristides book, ‘Beginning Drawing Atelier’ in my class room. I teach K-12 at a school of round 340 students. The book scal folds classical drawing methods which mesh well with what I’d like my students to learn. I sense that the book may have been intended for the adult learner. The content is rich and well laid out. For us adults, we can enjoy Juliettes beautiful quotes and tie-in to classical drawing methods. For kids, we can enjoy good lessons that build skill and images that probably won’t be cause for concern. My goal as a teacher, is to provide the art education that I never got until high school. Why not teach basic skills to elementary students, building concepts year after year. Luckily I am the only art teacher, and I can attest that my students recall the skills year after year. Most of my students believe that they can draw and or can figure out how to. For me, that is enough. Students love learning. There are plenty of books on teaching drawing, this one is exceptional as it is concise enough to encourage beginners. Great choice as the centerpiece to a solid art curriculum at all levels.
