A combination of starter and finisher colony and eliminates the need to move the delicate queen cells. The Cloake Board system relies on a division board that acts as a queen excluder and entrance. A metal slide is used to divide two hive bodies, trapping the queen in the lower portion and creating a perceived state of queenlessness in the hive body above. Severing pheromone communication allows the upper, queenless portion of the colony to be used as a cell starter.
