I am a single, homeschooling mom, with no home and no job, on a mission to build a healthy and fulfilling life for myself and my children. My kids and I are touring THREE farms in Southwestern Ontario in the hopes of finding a place where we can live a beautiful, purposeful life. The third and final farm that we visited is a Permaculture Food Forest near Lake Huron. Laura and Garnet have allowed nature to take the lead on their 13 acre plot, which is filled with native weeds and wildflowers amid groves of fruit and nut trees. With turkeys and guinea fowl and ducks and geese and two livestock guardian dogs and a dozen Jack Russell terriers, there is plenty here to keep the girls entertained.
