DIY Fix Your Samsung Dryer - Motor & Idler Pulley Replacement

This is a Samsung clothes dryer model # DV45H6300EW/A3. The dryer would run for only 4 seconds and then shut off. Then it would start again for another 4 seconds and shut off.... Also noticed a faint burning smell. The dryer is only 5 years old. Found that the switch on the motor was cooked and also the idler pulley wheel bearing had failed. Motor switch cannot be replaced by itself. Instead, the whole motor assembly must be replaced. (!) Also found that the idler pulley wheel bearing had failed such that the wheel would not turn freely. One problem likely contributed to the other. This video walks through the disassembly of the dryer, the replacement of the motor, the replacement of the idler pulley assembly, replacing the belt, and reassembling the dryer. Dryer now works like a champ. Update June 2023: The replacement motor lasted 3 1/2 years until it burned out. In June 2023, I replaced the motor again, as well as preventative replacement of the idler pulley wheel, the 4 drum rollers, and the belt.
