On World Elephant Day, here's a little story of a sacred animal that carved the ancient forests. Tamil Nadu, a land where the elephant has remained at the forefront of history and culture, is a haven for these giants. I had the honour of documenting elephants in the Nilgiri Biosphere for Tamil Nadu Forest Department this year, and as a South Indian, I was overwhelmed with a sense of pride.
